Concern, those threatening. In many of those countries, weak security. Major problem. Inter American court of Hunan Rights. not all countries on side.
People have access to guns, the mike, they are getting message out.
Judicial killings of journalist. Moratorium on death penalty, comes up every year at UN. But not agreed to. Spoke of the Alliance of Civilization, many participating, interfaith dialogue happening. Global forum on  Safety of women Journalist.

Lauren Wolfe, spoke to 50 journalists to do research. Sexualized violence against journalist. Horrifying storie. 3 types, intentional targeted, mob violence, in detention, particularly men. Violence against male journalist. Both targeted but differently.
Why now? Women won't speak because of fear of losing job, police will attack them, not believe them. Lose their husbands. How do we change?
Data shared 130 deaths last year. Provide training, to survive the story, research to provide the training.

Women journalist attached deliberately. Attack on freedom of expression. Many new partnerships being formed. Plan of Action approved. Need every one on board.
Lara Logan,the journalist who was attached, landmark that she came forward, mob took over, part of the problem, hoe fast it happened.

Women are under siege. What is it like in the field? Sexual targeting, and the mob behaviour. One day 27 attaced in Egypt , and when women out to protect, they were attached. cyber bullying, false and irresponsible. Implementation, all of these other movements, had local committees. Some kind of stopping impunity. Obama signed vaw act. Dozens of countries have no laws that protect women. Monitoring, how freedom of expression is protected.  Implementation, what is international law on freedom of speech.
Dart center, trauma. Recovering trauma. Men physical violence. Looking at harassment. Exists for both sexes. Physical for men, sexualized for women. Psychological threats. Death is one outcome. Psychological also a factor. Need to help journalist how to cover violence. Telling truthful stories. Protecting, but also by standard training. Cultural context. Violence against journalist no acceptable.
